Ammonia gas cylinder blast at Doodh Dairy in Hajipur affected around 100 people who had to be hospitalised. Now many of them have gone to their homes while some are still being treated in general and ICU wards of government and private clinics. In this incident, the lab technician working in the factory of Raj Fresh Dairy Company switched off the gas by risking his life. According to that young man, his eyesight has decreased in this sequence. That young man is Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Nalanda, about whom people say that he has saved a major accident in Hajipur.

Eyewitness lab technician telling how the accident happened

Lab technician Sanjeev Kumar says that he works as a lab technician in the factory of Raj Fresh Dairy Company. He was working the night shift on Saturday. At the same time the leakage of gas started. Sanjeev Kumar told that I had duty there. As soon as the gas leak happened, the workers working in the company started falling ill. Meanwhile, Sanjeev Kumar, risking his life, first closed the bladder of ammonia gas. According to Sanjeev, around one hundred laborers were working in the factory at that time. Sanjeev Kumar said that he was running the entire factory when the accident happened. Sanjeev Kumar told that I kept closing it with all my might till the gas stopped coming out. Then I fainted. He said that if I had not switched off the gas, Hajipur would have been ruined today. Regarding his health, he told that we are fine now. Only the eyes are not opening and there is a problem in the throat.
